Football in Indonesia

iberita.com

After the end of Copa America that is won by Chili and UEFA Euro Championship ended with Portugal victory. Along the tournament, We are spoiled by the great match and very skillful professional football players. As you know that we are willing to stay awake to watch Christiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann dribbling toward the goal. I estimated that approximately a half of Indonesian adults watching both of football championship.

Indonesia is a country with the fourth populous countries in the world with 250 million population. Yet, looking for skillful players are not easy. Because football did not manage properly. For instance, Indonesian football association (PSSI) did not manage by competent persons. Mostly, PSSI filled by a politician and a businessman who don't understand the football has become political tools, conflict of interest, and corruption.

Moreover, only in Indonesia that CEO of PSSI is still lead from the jail. So it is normal that football in Indonesian  can not thrive. Whereas the choices of players are very much.

In Sout East Asia, Indonesia defeated by Singapura, Thailand, and Malaysia. Changing the coach seemingly didn't solve the problem of Indonesian football. Whereas, the football is a popular sport in Indonesia.

Unprofessional PSSI officials make a bad football management. You can see that competition unprofessional and too many frauds, like setting the score, players are not paid, and bribes to the officials match. That is exacerbated by hooligans.

In Jokowi Era, the government even suspension the PSSI and have an impact on FIFA sanction. It decisions as a result of unprofessional PSSI. And you have to know that CEO PSSI stumbles law offense again.

However, if you like football and you are in Indonesia, I recommend you to watch some of the football matches. Certainly, the match is not good as European football but believe me there are not attractive supporters except in Indonesia. So just try to watch Arema Malang team, Persebaya Surabaya, Persib Bandung, and Persija Jakarta

In spite of all the shortcoming from Indonesian football, We are still reclining that someday our country can compete in World Cup.
