Ramadan means every Moslem around the world will get fasting as part of their worship. It's common in Ramadan you will see many Moslem eat in the early hours and they will iftar when the sun comes down. Not only about fasting, but there is also Tarawih Prayer after Isha. When fasting, Moslem around the world is expected to hold their carnality. They have to intensify their worship.

When pandemic COVID-19 spread to the globe, it causes changes in carrying Ramadan worship. Pray in the mosque has been limited and must implement health protocols. You can't get iftar together with an old friend or with your relatives. So Ramadan in the pandemic era is very silent.

In Many countries, there are different ways of carrying out Ramadan. For instance, in Indonesia, there is a prevalence that after fasting and toward Eid Mubarak, people will back to their hometown. Unfortunately, same as last year, homecoming is forbidden to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Even though, homecoming is a unique ritual because people move from big cities to villages in Indonesia.

Before COVID-19, Ramadan is about happiness, rejoicing, and celebration. Today, Ramadan is about worship in a silent, vigilance, and hopefully, the pandemic will end soon.
