Paradise in Mandalika, Lombok

In the last 10 years, West Nusa Tenggara, Lombok is very famous with Gili Trawangan, Rinjani Mountain, and Mataram, but did you know that in 1980, there was a famous destination in South of Lombok Island, Mandalika.

It places had been one of the tourist destination besides Bali Island. It has a large bay and wide white sand that make local and foreign people fall in love at the first sight.

Now, Mandalika has become one of the priority destination in Indonesia besides Borobudur, Tanjung Kelayang, Tanjung Lesung, Danau Toba, Labuan Bajo, Morotai, Wakatobi, Bromo Mountain, Kepulauan Seribu.

Actually, there are several beaches in this area like Gerupuk Beach, Tanjung Aan Beach, Serenting Beach, Kuta Beach, and Seger Beach. If you like surfing, there is Ubrug Beach that has beautiful scenery.

The unique thing in Mandalika, there is a Bau Nyale Festival. It's present the tradition of taking earthworms that have been hundred years. And if you have a plan to go to Mandalika, I will give you some tips:

  1. The best time to Mandalika is about July to August, because the weather is shiny. And don't forget to bring your sunblock
  2. For the accommodation, you can take star hotel or home stay with low budget
  3. There are so many beaches in Mandalika. If you don't want to waste the time, just rent a car
  4. Don't forget to hike the Merese Hill. You can see the beautiful scenery from the top of the hill
  5. Always bring your camera or your cell phone so you can get selfie and  won't miss beautiful moment there

Ramadhan is the time when Moslem Peoples get fasting for a month. It's a period when Moslems restrain their appetency. They don't eat and drink from dawn to sunset or Maghrib time. They recommended enhancing their act of worship.
